PHOTOS: Summit County Garden Tour features flowers in Frisco, Silverthorne and Keystone
Each year, the Summit County Garden Tour focuses on High Country gardens in various corners of the county. This year, tour participants were sent to gardens in Silverthorne, Frisco and Keystone. The tour highlighted the wide variety of flowers that can survive and even thrive at 9,000+ feet. Each stop featured a vibrant display of blossoms, with volunteers, home owners and landscaping professionals on hand to answer questions and talk plants. Run by the Summit County Garden Club, proceeds from the tour fund a scholarship for a Summit High School senior who plans to study plant-related science such as botany, landscaping, environmental science, etc. Additional funds provide grants to other county and town public gardens. The tour takes place annually, usually in July. For more information on the garden club, visit SummitCountyGardenClub.org.
