Can’t make it to Los Angeles for the Academy Awards? Don’t worry. On Feb. 24 the ceremony comes to town with a viewing party and fundraiser supporting the Breckenridge Film Festival.

Guests are invited to walk Summit County’s version of the red carpet while supporting independent film and experiencing Hollywood’s most important ceremony honoring last year’s best films live on the movie screen at the Speakeasy Theater in Breckenridge. Live auction items being offered include getaways to Mexico, Arizona, New Mexico, Telluride and more.

“Hollywood and Wine is shaping up to be a really fun event, and the Breck Film Fest is excited to host the Academy Awards ceremony as our annual fundraiser,” said Breckenridge Film Festival executive director Janice Miller in a release. “Ridge St. Kitchen Catering is back on board, we’ve added a fabulous live auction and a few other surprises to round out the festivities. In addition to the fun, it’s an important night to support unique film experiences outside of blockbusters in our community.”

Other festivities include a silent auction, film trivia games, best-dressed contests and fun opportunities to win prizes. Cocktail attire is encouraged but not required.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 24 and the evening will finish at the end of the ceremony when the winner of Best Picture is announced. Individual tickets are $45 in advance, $70 for VIP tickets and $260 for a VIP four-pack. Visit BreckFilmFest.org to purchase.
