Summit County Weekend: Swimsuit Day hits Arapahoe Basin Ski Area Saturday

Arapahoe Basin, the only ski area still opreating in Summit County, has gotten a massive addition of snow in the last couple days and will be having its annual Swimwear Day on Saturday.

Even with Thursday and Friday’s snow, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is still planning on having its Swimwear Day on Saturday, an employee of the resort said Thursday.

With the snowfall being measured in feet, it should be a great weekend at A-Basin regardless. However, the mountain is bringing back one of its most popular events, and anyone who dresses the part should stop by a tent they will have set up to show off his or her best family-friendly swimwear styles.

Doing so will get the skier or snowboarder a raffle ticket, with a chance to win a Never Summer Snowboard and other great prizes.

Additionally, A-Basin is celebrating Public Lands Day. More than 35 percent of Colorado is designated public land, from the national parks to ski resorts.

As a result, Rocky Mountain Underground, Conservation Colorado and Snowriders International will be partying at the base. For more,
