Backstage Theatre seeks actors for ‘The 10th’
The Breckenridge Backstage Theatre is now accepting resumes and headshots for its upcoming production of “The 10th,” a play written and directed by Backstage artistic director Christopher Willard.
“The 10th” follows two recruits who join the 85th Regiment at Camp Hale in the Pando Valley to become alpine soldiers. Thrown into a battalion already reeling from a disastrous mission in the Aleutian Islands, the new recruits must deal with a splintered division populated by an overly educated army force, oversize egos, cantankerous mule skinners and the looming six-week mission in the dead of winter known as “D Series.” Fortitude, faith and fighting spirit combine to create a brotherhood of soldiers never seen before — or since.
The Backstage Theatre is looking for men and women ages 18 to 40 to play a variety of characters in the show, including lead and supporting roles. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 20, and the performance schedule is Friday, Feb. 7 thru Saturday, March 1. Rehearsal stipend and performance pay will be provided ($800 guarantee).
To apply, send a resume and headshot to firstname.lastname@example.org. A one-minute dramatic monologue video or similar reel also would be accepted. Deadline for submissions is Friday, Dec. 27. For a full list of roles to be cast and more information, visit http://www.backstagetheatre.org.
