The melodic sounds of violin and piano come together Saturday for an evening of Beethoven, Debussy and Rachmaninoff. Then, Brian Hanly and William David will play for one hour at Lord of the Mountains church in Dillon at 5 p.m. The concert is a benefit to raise funds for the church’s Day Services program.

Twice a week, clients referred by the Family and Intercultural Resources Center can come to the church for food, showers, laundry and can access a phone or computer. The program also provides vouchers for emergency food or gas along with information about other services offered in Summit County.

Violinist Brian Hanly has performed throughout the world. The New York Times has described his performances as “strong and assured, full of zest and vitality.” Pianist William David has performed internationally with the Ames Piano Quartet. In 2003 the quartet spent a week performing and teaching in Havana, Cuba. It was the first American chamber music group to be invited there in over forty years.
