Special to the Daily

The sounds of the Eagles will fill the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge on Saturday for a feel-good concert that gets people out of their seats dancing in the aisles and sells out almost every year.

Playing hits like “Hotel California,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” and “Take it Easy,” Colorado band The Long Run will return to Breckenridge for the fifth year in support of Domus Pacis Family Respite this weekend.

“It’s a great show,” concert organizer Vince White-Petteruti said. “We’re going to move a lot of chairs off, and we want people dancing up front to the music.”

Domus Pacis is a local organization that gives families facing the death of a loved one, often from a cancer diagnosis, time together in the Rocky Mountains. The nonprofit hosts a handful of tribute concerts every year, and proceeds help Domus Pacis’ provide these respites.

Last year, the local nonprofit served 152 of these families. This year, the goal is to raise that number to 165.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday and the concert starts 30 minutes later. General admission tickets are $35. VIP tickets are $45, and children 16 and under are $15. Tickets can be purchased online at BreckCreate.org.

Cash donations will be accepted, and Girl Scouts will be on hand selling cookies. Cookies sold during the concert will go to the families helped by Domus Pacis. Last year, people spent more than $2,000 to buy over 500 boxes of cookies for the families.
