Keystone Neighbourhood Company

This Saturday the Keystone Neighbourhood Company and Warren Station host their third annual Distilled series of whiskey tastings and presentations.

Jim Beam whiskey expert Oleg Shikverg will lead a tasting of five small-batch bourbons. The flight includes Jim Beam Black, Bookers, Knob Creek Rye, Basil Hayden’s Dark Rye and Maker’s 46.

He will teach attendees what to look for in a whiskey and what makes each style unique.

Between tastings, presenters will enlighten the audience on backcountry safety, avalanche awareness and more. Joe Larson of the Keystone Ski Patrol will have a short presentation on the resort’s avalanche dog program. Aaron Parmet, a backcountry expert with Colorado Avalanche Information Center, will talk about decision making in the backcountry.

New this year is Jake Black from Protect Our Winters discussing how climate change is influencing the mountains and what can be done.

In addition to the bourbon samples, all ticket purchases include a raffle ticket and the chance to win various swag. A portion of event proceeds benefits the CAIC, POW and the Keystone Ski Patrol avy dog program.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the tasting starting at 7. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Purchase them at WarrenStation.com
