Breckenridge Film Festival, Breckenridge Creative Arts and Filmed by Bike are partnering with local bike shops to present an evening showcasing bicycles during this year’s annual Breckenridge International Festival of Arts on Sunday, Aug. 14.

Breckenridge Film Festival (BFF), Breckenridge Creative Arts and Filmed by Bike are partnering with local bike shops to present an evening showcasing bicycles during this year's annual Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Breckenridge Film Festival to present this event," said Robb Woulfe, president of Breckenridge Creative Arts, in a statement. "This evening's program of independent film truly represents the adventure, playfulness, and creativity of BIFA."

BIFA is a multi-art, 10-day festival of events across Breckenridge. Cycle In' Cinema is a film program that adds depth and texture to the BIFA lineup through two bicycle-themed short film blocks for all ages as well as bicycles racks for local riders to fill on the patio of the Riverwalk Center. All attendees are encouraged to ride to the showing to create their own interactive exhibit of the arts festival by displaying their mass of bikes of all shapes, sizes and colors. Remember your lock.

"We can't wait to see the impromptu art installation that happens when people ride their bikes to the Riverwalk Center for this event," said Janice Kurbjun, executive director of the BFF, in a statement. "As part of our year-round programming, we are proud to collaborate with Breck Create and Filmed By Bike to bring our community a unique and fun event, and be part of the great BIFA celebration, to boot. This is fun for us, and we hope it will be fun for the Summit County community as well."

Riding a bicycle to the Riverwalk Center Sunday night will also come with a complimentary giveaway ticket for a chance to win bike swag at the culmination of the event. Local bike shops have joined forces with the event to promote their prominent role in the biking culture of this mountain town. All items have been donated by Breckenridge bike shops such as Lone Star & Christy Sports, Elevation Ski and Bike, Breck Bike Guides, Alpine Sports, Avalanche Sports and many more.

Two 50-minute film blocks are presented with an intermission followed by the giveaway. Wildly Fun Bike Shorts features an artsier collection of films looking at a historian who preserves century-old two-wheeled rides, global riding perspectives, a music video and bicycle ballet. "Adventure Shorts" wrap up the evening featuring Colorado locals Joey Schusler and Thomas Woodson riding through Peru's Huayhuash mountain range.
