A tapestry of local women’s experiences — gathered from neighbors and friends in Summit County — is spun to create a funny and captivating story of our life and times in the High Country in the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre’s original production “Curves Ahead.” The show, which made its world premiere in January, will enjoy a second run this weekend only at Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub in Breckenridge.

Written by local playwright Carisa Peterson and directed by Backstage artistic director Chris Willard, “Curves Ahead” is a series of monologues written from interviews with Summit County women who shared their stories of triumph and trepidation, love and laughter, interspersed with one-liner guidelines on how to survive as a woman in a culture dominated by “bros.”

Contributing writer Lenore Giardina said this time around, she and Peterson put their heads together and re-wrote parts of the show to keep it fresh and interesting.

“We left a lot of the same stuff in, cut quite a bit and replaced it with some different pieces and scenes,” she said. “We had many people come up to us after the original show telling us they had more stories for us. We managed to locate a few of them, but we know there are more folks with stories out there. My hope is to find them and do another entirely original piece.”

If you have a story to share for a possible future edition of “Curves Ahead,” contact Giardina through the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre at (970) 453-0199.
