Today’s top five things to do in Summit County

The WRC Spring Fundraiser Dance for Life is Friday, May 13 at 6 p.m. Exciting things are happening at WRC, and you’re invited to participate as a sponsor, volunteer, donor and/or attendee at the upcoming spring fundraiser Dance for Life. The event will be held at the Silverthorne Pavilion from 6–9 p.m. WRC will introduce its new medical director, Dr. Frederick Seidel, who will oversee the ultrasound program, along with nurse sonographers. In addition, the new website will also be unveiled. Event features include a barbecue dinner buffet, cash bar, tap dance demonstration, country western line dancing and a silent auction. Cost is $10.

Velocity of Autumn

Silverthorne, May 13-19

7:30 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. (May 11, 15 & 19), The Lake Dillon Theatre Company, 246-X Rainbow Drive. A play, written by Eric Coble. The Velocity of Autumn reveals how a mother and son who haven't spoken in twenty years reconnect in the most unlikely of circumstances, ultimately realizing that what pushed them apart were not their differences but rather their similarities.

Flocking Flowers

1 p.m., Fuqua Livery Stable, 110 E Washington Ave. Create mystical and velvety flower decorations using the fuzzy art material of flocking. Flocking is short, tiny synthetic fibers that gives a surface a velvet-like texture. It is a fun way to add color and dimension to any art or craft project.
