Keystone Resort will bring back its annual Slush Cup on closing day, Sunday, April 12, to celebrate the end of the season. Awards for the competition will be handed out for Best Costume, Best Crash and Best Overall, followed by music from the Beloved Invaders, an instrumental surf band from the Front Range.

Registration runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Mountain House base area, with the Slush Cup pond skimming competition starting at 10:30 a.m. and finishing around 1 p.m., with awards to follow. The winner in each adult category will receive a 2015-16 Vail Resorts Summit Value Pass season ski pass, which includes unlimited skiing or riding at Keystone and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, with limited restrictions at Breckenridge.

New this year, children ages 6 to 13 can compete in their own Slush Cup. There will be a specific smaller, low-impact pond for this age group, and parents must be on site at the pond while their child is dropping and at all times during the event. Ages 14 to 17 will be given the option to skim either the adult or children’s pond.

The entry fee for ages 14 and older is $30 per person, and children 13 and younger are free, with online registration available for both age groups at http://www.2015keystoneslushcup.com. Competitors who miss online registration can pay the day of the event with the exact amount of registration in the Mountain House Village.

Slush Cup events are free to spectators at the Mountain House Base Area, and there will be additional crowd prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Lifts will be running for closing day at Keystone from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on the Slush Cup, lift ticket prices and closing day activities at Keystone, visit http://www.keystoneresort.com.
