There are few things more satisfying after a long day on the slopes than a hearty bowl of soup, especially one you crafted yourself, and the town of Frisco is challenging local residents to test their favorite recipes at the inaugural Soup Cup Classic this weekend as part of Wassail Days.

Head out to the Frisco Adventure Park Day Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 7, and take advantage of tubing from 4 to 6 p.m. Then cozy up by the fire and enjoy a variety of delicious soups from 5 to 7 p.m. Tubing, all the soup you can handle and two free beers are all included in the $20 admission price; kids 10 and younger are free.

“We are really excited for the addition of the Soup Cup Classic,” said Nora Gilbertson, events manager for the town of Frisco. “With one admission, guests can enjoy some tubing runs with friends and family and then head into the Day Lodge to warm up with some tasty soups.”

Entry in either the amateur or professional category is free, and competitors should bring between one and three gallons of their homemade soup for tasting. To sign up, visit http://www.wassaildays.com.

The Frisco Adventure Park is located at 616 Recreation Way. The Soup Cup Classic is sponsored by the Frisco Adventure Park, New Belgium Brewery and Canyon Bakehouse.
