Oscars Live Action Short Films

Breckenridge, May 3

6 p.m., Breckenridge Backstage Theater, 121 S. Ridge St. A one-time-only screening of the Academy’s 2015 Live Action Short nominees at the Backstage Theater, presented in conjunction with the Breckenridge Film Festival. Five films lasting 74 minutes tell stories from around the world in a vast variety of ways. Includes ‘Aya,’ ‘Boogaloo & Graham,’ ‘Butter Lamp,’ ‘Parvaneh,’ and ‘The Phone Call.’ Tickets $12 adults/$10 youth and seniors available at http://www.backstagetheatre.org.

Water, Water, Everywhere

Breckenridge, May 3

9 a.m., Father Dyer Church, 310 Wellington Road. Karen & Ben Little will speak about their efforts to provide water pump wells for rural Cambodians. So far, their project has provided 250 wells to 17 villages in remote Northwest Cambodia. Their goal in 2015 is to dig 45 hand pump wells and 10 cement pipe wells. (970) 453-9142.

Historic Walking Tour

Breckenridge, May 3

11 a.m. & 1:30 p.m., Breckenridge Welcome Center, 203 S Main St. Take a tour through Breckenridge’s Nationally Recognized Historic District with a local expert. Along the way, hear stories about the hardy souls who lived in Breckenridge more than 100 years ago. Reservations not required.

Ghostly Tales

Breckenridge, May 3

7 p.m., Dredge Restaurant, Breckenridge, 180 W. Jefferson Ave. Explore the darker side of Breckenridge’s past on this Ghost Hunt and 90 minute walking tour. Meet Sylvia, the lonely widow; William Goodwin, the mangled miner; and Dr. Condon, the cold blooded killer. Ghost-hunting equipment provided to help you find those ghosts.
