Breck Epic

Breckenridge, Aug. 11-14

All Day, Beaver Run Resort, 620 Village Road. The Epic is composed of six big backcountry loops (3 loops for the 3-day Epic-curious events), each between 35 and 50 miles long. The event is unique in that it employs a cloverleaf format; each loop starts and finishes within a mile from downtown Breckenridge and utilizes the sprawling network of trails in both Summit and Park Counties.



Fabulous Food & Dancing

Dillon, Aug. 11

5:30 p.m., Lake Dillon Amphitheater, W. Lodgepole St. Grand Lodge, the Town of Dillon and Summit Swing Dance are hosting a fundraiser at the Dillon Amphitheater for the benefit of Roots Del Mundo. Entry and participation are free with dinner served starting at 5:30 p.m. and a cha cha lesson taught by Barry and Linda Moore at 6 p.m. Concessions are available with donations, which directly benefit Roots del Mundo. Public Tour: Pennsylvania Mine Remediation

Keystone, Aug. 11

9:15 a.m., Keystone Policy Center, 1628 Sts. John Road. Jeff Graves of the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety, as well as other members of the Snake River Task Force, will lead this public tour and discuss recent cleanup efforts at the mine. Please bring your own food and water and wear appropriate clothing for the visit. Participants may need to use their own vehicles to carpool or may be asked to ride with others attending on the field trip. Please RSVP by emailing Jonathan Geurts (jgeurts@keystone.org) if you plan to attend the field trip. RSVPs are requested but not required; drop-ins are welcome, but please arrive before 9:30 a.m. at the Keystone Policy Center parking lot.

A tapestry of local women’s experiences – gathered from neighbors and friends in Summit County – is spun to create a funny and captivating story of our life and times in the high country. Lake Dillon Historical Boat Tour
