Electronic Recycling event

Frisco, Aug. 14

8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Summit High School parking lot. People can drive their vehicles up to the Metech Recycling Truck, parked in front of the school, and our crew will be happy to unload. Prices range from $5, $12 or $25 dollars depending on the size of the electronic device being recycled. Startup Bike Summit

Frisco, Aug. 14

8 a.m., Elevate CoSpace, 711 Granite St. Group bike rides in the morning followed by hard-charging sessions in the afternoon. Get inspired by bike industry entrepreneurs and innovators, like the founder of Boo Bicycles and Colorado’s new director of the Outdoor Recreation Industry Office. Then join a design facilitator with Stanford’s d.school for a hands-on designing for innovation session. Ollie’s Thin Air Home Run Derby

Breckenridge, Aug. 14

5:30 p.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Road. Get ready to swing for the fences in the 4th annual slowpitch softball Home Run Derby presented by the Breckenridge Recreation Department and Ollie’s Pub & Grub. The fences are 300 feet from home plate. Participants must provide their own pitcher (to pitch the softball, not to drink). The home run champion wins a $150 gift certificate to Ollie’s Pub & Grub in Breckenridge. (970) 453-1734.
