A new art exhibit, featuring the work of nine local artists and authentic dresses on loan from Mexican-American community members, opened at the County Commons in Frisco on Sept. 27. Explosion of Colors will be on display at the Summit County Commons in Frisco for the next four months on the second floor in the Art Forum.

Senior Tennis Court Time

Breckenridge, Oct. 4

12 p.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Road. Senior players have two hours of private court time for round robin doubles play Saturdays and Sundays throughout the Fall. Call in early to secure a spot – play is limited to the first 10 players who register. Please pay $10 fee upon arrival at the Breckenridge Recreation Center Front Desk.

Deep H2O Sport Drop In

Breckenridge, Oct. 4

4:30 p.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Road. This class integrates cardio, core conditioning and circuit training to improve muscle tone and strength, enhance aerobic endurance, and increase mobility and stability. Go beyond basic training techniques to develop the hidden athlete inside you. Equipment varies; noodles, cuffs, belts and more. Class is free with pass or daily admission.

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi

Breckenridge, Oct. 4

2 p.m., St. John’s Episcopal Church, 100 S French St. Blessing of the Animals service on this day, and all are welcome. Bring your dog, cat, horse, or gerbil! The simple service will be held on the front lawn of the church. Two hymns, a Scripture reading, and lots of time for our animal friends to receive individual blessings. Those who attend are invited to bring dog biscuits or other pet food to be donated to the Summit County Animal Shelter. Call (901) 229-4163 for more information.

Traumatic Brain Injury TALK Pro Cycling Team Doc: ‘Treating and Managing TBIs & Concussions’

4 p.m., Beaver Run Resort, 620 Village Road. Dr. Michael Roshon, ER Physician and team doctor for the United Health Care Pro Cycling team will share his experience in treating and managing TBI and concussions in the ER and in the pro cycling field. He will also share information about new helmet technology for cyclists and how it may improve protection for the brain during a crash.
