Couples competing in the Best Couples Costume Contest line up on stage at a previous year's HOWLaween Ball. The third annual HOWLaween Ball benefiting Far View Horse Rescue, Animal Rescue of the Rockies and League for Animals and People of the Summit will be held Friday, Oct. 30 from 7–11 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Nightmare Readings at the Main Library

Frisco, Oct. 30

4 p.m., Summit County Library, 37 Peak One Drive. The Main Library in Frisco once again partners with The Frisco Historic Park and Museum to present Nightmare Readings. Join Patrick McWilliams as he presents scary stories followed by an open house at the museum with light refreshments and lantern tours.

Adult Drop In Hockey

8:30 a.m., Stephen C. West Ice Arena, 0189 Boreas Pass Road. These sessions allow players to scrimmage and play pick-up hockey. All players must be 18 years of age or older, and rough play and inappropriate behavior is not allowed. Helmets are required and full equipment is highly recommended.

Teen Movie Day

2:30 p.m., South Branch – Summit County Library, 103 South Harris St. The South Branch Library in Breckenridge hosts you and your friends for a movie based book viewing. Snacks are provided.
