Today’s top five things to do in Summit County

The musicians of Summit County are teaming up for an evening at the Riverwalk Center for the inaugural High Country Holidays Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Under the esteemed direction of music directors Beth Steele and Jill Schroeder-Dorn, the Summit Choral Society, Summit Concert Band, and Summit County Orchestra are pooling their resources to put on a concert in Breckenridge.

The Revolution Tour

Copper Mountain, Dec. 8-11

8 a.m., Copper Mountain Resort, 209 Ten Mile Circle. Copper will host the first stop on USSAs Rev Tour. It will include snowboard and freeski competitions in the Main Vein SuperPipe. Top winners may earn an invite to the U.S. Grand Prix, Junior Worlds, or USASA Nationals.



Hog MaGundy

Frisco, Dec. 9

9 p.m., Barkley Ballroom, 610 Main St. Hog MaGundy takes on the term Jam Band by offering a unique interpretation of the Americana genre which mixes perfectly with their bluegrass style. Their live performances exhibit a deeper musical connection that puts this band far beyond their years.

Breckenridge, Dec. 8 & 15

All Day, Breckenridge Ski Resort Peak 8 Guest Services, 1599 Ski Hill Road. 50+ Ski with us is a complimentary guided ski and snowboard program for all Breck guests ages 50 and over. Explore Breck’s vast and varied terrain, while enjoying a social day with fellow local and visiting seniors. All ability levels are welcome. Registration is 8:30-9 in the T-Bar. Parent-Child Drop in Swim Lessons

Breckenridge, Dec. 8 & 15

10:45 a.m., Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Road. Instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water-safety skills that are developmentally appropriate for infants and young children. In Parent and Child Swim, great experiences and fun activities are provided to teach children to be comfortable and safe in and around the water, while parents learn how to hold and support your child in the water. 11 a.m., Edwin Carter Discovery Center, 111 North Ridge St. Explore the home and museum of Edwin Carter, miner-turned-taxidermist-and-naturalist.
