Some locals took this mud season as an opportunity to live the beach-bum lifestyle in Mexico. Lily Burns took the time to get certified in scuba diving and completed a dive with her father, Kiernan Burns, to 90 feet in Cozumel. Another group spent 10 days in Punta Pescadora just north of Cabo San Lucas.

Residents who stayed in Summit for the shoulder season took time to improve the community. Ten employees at the Snake River Saloon and Steakhouse in Keystone picked up 79 bags of trash along Highway 6 on May 14, while Jaxon Redhorse, a soon-to-be second-grader at Frisco Elementary School showed off her reading skills and charitable nature by reading to a class of 4-year-olds earlier this week.
