Why do you think your business was voted the Best of Summit?

I have been a professional photographer serving Summit County for almost 20 years. I have worked hard to create meaningful relationships with the community, and I have built a reputation for providing quality photography and high standards of service.

What sets your business apart?

I know there are a lot of talented photographers in this community. I think what really sets Timothy Faust Photography apart is the decades of experience and an understanding of the needs of the various clients we work with.

Why did you choose this profession and what are you most proud of?

This profession really chose me. I started photography back in the ’90s out of interest in the artform combined with my passion for outdoor adventure and travel. Selling my photography back then was just a means to pay for film, batteries and having prints made. It turned into a profession very slowly and organically. By the early 2000s, I had to give up my day job as a schoolteacher to focus on the photography business.

How does your business give back to the community?

Timothy Faust Photography is a proud member of 1% for the Planet. As a member, I donate 1% of our gross revenue to local environmental nonprofit organizations. We have also donated time and photography services, and we have sponsored organizations like the NRO.

How has your business overcome recent economic, supply chain or staffing challenges?

I did have to do a major pivot in 2021, when the pandemic had a big impact on the wedding and hospitality industries. Prior to that, most of my business was focused on wedding photography, and hotel and restaurant photography. As that slowed down, I shifted gears and used my extensive experience photographing commercial property to refocus on residential real estate photography. Now I am busy photographing and creating video for 50 homes every month. The best thing about the switch is that it allows me to spend more time in Summit County and less time traveling.
