For the First Friday in May, Silverthorne is giving a nod to the locals with a Locals Appreciation Party.

May is that time of year when things typically slow down across Summit County following the busy winter tourism season before the summer traffic sets in.

While the party may be aimed at locals, Silverthorne is welcoming anybody and everybody to May’s First Friday event from 4–8 p.m. on May 3 at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center.

The party hosted in a partnership with Locals Liquors will feature beer and liquor from more than 30 breweries and distilleries, along with food vendors and live music from the bands the Huffy Boys and the Chris Bauer Trio, according to the town.

The party is free, though donations will be accepted as all proceeds will benefit local nonprofits such as Summit Community Care Clinic, Domus Pacis, Family and Intercultural Resource Center, Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, Colorado Avalanche Information Center, Lake Dillon Preschool and the Lake Dillon Theatre Company.
