Silverthorne, CO Parks
August 15, 2016
The town of Silverthorne has several parks that families and friends can enjoy at their leisure. Rainbow Park is conveniently located on Rainbow Drive that has seven acres of amusement. Rainbow Park is equipped with a skate park, tennis courts, a playing field, volleyball courts and a basketball court for the older kids. The younger generation can enjoy the children's playground.
Parents and kids can take advantage of this park and host their next birthday or gathering here. There are picnic tables and restrooms as well as an amphitheater that is the main attraction for events and festivals. If Rainbow Park is too crowded, check out Trent Park.
Trent Park is a smaller park, with just about four acres of fun. This park has picnic tables for a nice, summer BBQ, a baseball field for your young Jeter, a children's playground as well as a fishing pond. Relax at Trent Park and teach your loved ones about the patience of fishing. A short, twelve minute walk will take you to North Pond Park which is about a five acre park.
North Pond Park is directly south of the elementary school, so it's a great place to bring the children once school is out. During the winter, ice skating is very popular and the pavilion can be used as a warming hut. In the summer time, the pavilion can be used for parties, picnics without the bugs, or anything else. There are also two separate docks so you can sit near the water, a short walking trail and a gas fire pit for some quality BBQ.
If you're looking for something more intimate, try Arctic Placer Park. This park has less than one acre and is located near a small neighborhood. There is a covered picnic areas as well as a children's playground. Last but definitely not least is the Willow Grove Open Space which is just at the end of Mesa Drive. There's a small pond, a walking trail, restrooms, picnic tables, a horseshoe pit, and a beautiful gazebo with the Blue River right at your feet.
No matter which park you go to see, whether it's one or all, you're bound to be impressed by the sense of community and the simplistic beauty the parks in Silverthorne have to offer.
