Best Clothing Store: Colisco Wearables
Colisco Wearables, a high-end clothing store on Main Street in Frisco, sells men and women’s fashion and specializes in outdoor, yoga and other active-style clothing. The store also carries several handmade Colorado items.
Owner Lisa Ton opened Colisco Wearables in Frisco three years ago after several years of success with her first store, The Flying Crane. Ton said she was confident another clothing business would do well in Frisco, especially one that combines fashion trends with outdoor clothing trends.
“Our store is unique because we provide comfort fashion. With the clothes that we offer, we are able to provide personal, limited items that aren’t at a lot of places,” Ton said.
Another aspect of the store that makes it unique is that Colisco Wearables has a historic World War II airplane hangar. The building has been restored to preserve historic elements and function as a retail store.
“When we took over with the store, the building was just so old,” Ton said. “When we remodeled it, we just restored (the hangar), and now it’s beautiful, and it’s a highlight of the store. It just makes the store so unique and different.”
While Ton has been working with High Country fashion for several years now, she said it is still a challenge to keep up.
“Every day, with the market being new and fashion, you have to reinvent yourself. So it’s a lot of work, but it’s a lot of fun at the same time,” Ton said.
Ton prides herself on the fact that customers see new inventory every time they come into the store because she brings in new inventory each week. She said locals frequent the store because they know the items have limited availability.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunities in town, and I’m very grateful for the local people that give this store support over the years,” Ton said.
Colisco Wearables is at 416 E. Main St. in Frisco.
