12 Army ROTC grads commissioned with Iraq on the horizon

FORT COLLINS – Friday was a special day for Army ROTC cadets at Colorado State University.Twelve cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants in a ceremony at the Lory Student Center attended by top brass from Fort Carson.The new lieutenants, who will be leading soldiers within a matter of months, face a probability of a wartime deployment that is higher than at anytime in recent history.”You are entering the Army at a time of unprecedented challenge and unparalleled opportunities,” Brig. Gen. Norman H. Anderson told the cadets just before their commissioning.Anderson traveled from Fort Carson, where he is the deputy commanding general of Division West, First Army.
