Applause! — the special events and fundraising committee of the Breckenridge Music Festival — hosts a variety of parties and functions to support the BMF.
Through these social affairs, Applause! volunteers provide a venue to strengthen the Summit County community and, at the same time, raise a substantial portion of the annual BMF budget.
On Saturday, Applause! presents the 19th annual Pig Roast at the home of hosts Sherrie and Chuck Calderini in Blue River. Benefitting the Breckenridge Music Festival, this end-of-the-season Applause! event has become a local institution and will feature great food, good company and the bluegrass sounds of local favorite band The Pine Beatles.
“As avid pig and lamb bone noshers and fans of the bluegrass sounds of The Pine Beatles, we’re never missing a chance to indulge ourselves at this entertaining evening at the Calderini’s welcome Blue River home,” said Janey Trowbridge, part-time Breckenridge resident.
The Calderini’s have hosted the event for the past 19 years.
“We got the idea to do a pig roast because it worked well in Illinois, and we thought it would be a perfect thing to do in our Breckenridge surroundings.” Sherrie Calderini said. “This has certainly proven to be the case, and we have met so many wonderful people hosting it.”
