2 killed in rollover crash on Interstate 25

LONGMONT – Two people were killed and one person was seriously hurt when their pickup rolled and crashed along Interstate 25 near this city north of Denver, authorities said.The Colorado State Patrol said a Ford Ranger pickup was southbound on I-25 near mile marker 239 when the driver lost control and ran off the west side of the highway about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.The truck rolled 2 3/4 times and ejected two male passengers who were unrestrained.Master Trooper Ron Watkins said the male driver, 47, was not wearing a seat belt. He was not ejected, but died at the scene.A male passenger, 39, was ejected, and died at the crash site.A 22-year-old male passenger was also ejected and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.His condition was not available early Thursday.The names of the dead and injured were not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.Watkins said alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash.
