20 horses seized from Fort Collins rescue ranch

FORT COLLINS – About 20 horses have been seized from the Animal Angels Horse Rescue ranch in Fort Collins amid concerns about their well-being.Larimer County sheriff’s deputies and other authorities took the horses Saturday morning to the county fairgrounds near Loveland, where they will be housed temporarily.Authorities also seized documents about the horses’ ownership.Deputies have been investigating the welfare of about 70 horses on the Animal Angels ranch.Also participating in the investigation are the Larimer County Humane Society, the Colorado State University Veterinary Center and the Colorado Bureau of Animal Protection.
