4H members win awards at state fair

Thirteen Summit County 4-H members competed at the 2005 Colorado State Fair in August. Three members received awards for the 4-H Equine program: Kyle Armstrong – Overall Reserve English Champion in ages 16-18; first place in English Showmanship, English Control, & Hunter Hack; third in English Equitation, sixth in English Written test; Halley Armstrong – Overall Reserve English Champion in ages 11-13; first place in English Equitation, English Control, and Show Hack; sixth in Western showmanship. Jessica May – Sixth place Overall Western in ages 8-10; second in Western Written Test; seventh in English Written Test.Thank you to our Summit County 4-H leaders for their dedication, support and hard work in helping our 4-H kids excel and participate at the State Fair level: Jill Michener – 4-H Quilting Leader; Mindy Armstrong, Kim Slivka, Betsy Goodell, Tavi Goslau, Sharon Henkels, Nancy Wanamaker -4-H Equine Leaders. Other 4-H members who competed at the State Fair this year were: Katy Bilisoly, Samantha Latta; Erin Tilka, Erin Goodell, Alyana Kelly, Mackenzie Jones, Megan Hollenbeck, Molly Herwehe, Kimberly Snyder and Morgan Foote.
