8 arrested in alleged auto theft ring

DENVER ” Authorities say they arrested eight people and broke up a ring that stole about 350 vehicles in Fort Collins and the Denver area.

The eight suspects face charges of violating the state’s organized crime control act, Attorney General John Suthers said Thursday. He said more suspects may be arrested.

Authorities said the ring operated from August 2005 to May 2006. They suspect money made from sale of stolen auto parts and car stereos was used to buy methamphetamine.

The suspects, all from Westminster, were each being held in lieu of $75,000 bond. They were identified as Ma Lee, 28; Dennis Godbolt, 25; Tony Lo, 26; Kou Lo, 22; Jason Cheng, 21; Lu Vang, 33; Thong Lor, 26; and Kong Lor, 19.

Lee and Kuo Lo were also charged with theft by receiving property.
