A-Basin season passes on sale

Special to the Daily Arapahoe Basin released its prices for the 2004-2005 season after receiving six inches of snow.

Arapahoe Basin ski area rolled out its pass prices for the 2004-2005 season shortly after the area received six inches of fresh snow.

Snowmaking is set to begin when temperatures warrant and opening day is scheduled for late October. The resort again challenged competitor Loveland Ski Area in a race to open first for the season. With its new snowmaking system, it opened second last year, two days after Loveland, on Oct. 30.

The Arapahoe Basin Bonus Pass – providing skiers and riders unlimited use at A-Basin plus five non-transferable ski days at Keystone or Breckenridge – is selling for $229. One of the five ski days can be used at Vail or Beaver Creek, but is not valid at either of the two Eagle County resorts Nov. 26-27, Dec. 27-Jan. 1 or Feb. 19-20 during the 2004-2005 season. The Arapahoe Basin-only adult season pass is $179, youth pass (age 15-19) is $109, child pass (age 6-14) is $69 and the senior pass (age 70 plus) is $30.
