A great presentation by Sheriff’s Office

Lynne O'Connor - Boy Scout Troop 187

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Sheriff John Minor, Sgt. Cheryl Giordano, Capt. Kevin Trimbath and public relations spokeswoman Jill Berman of the Summit County Sheriff’s Department for hosting a group of scouts from Troop 187 in Breckenridge. Sheriff Minor gave a wonderful presentation on crime and crime prevention. He shared many of his personal and professional experiences from his many years in law enforcement. His talk sparked some lively discussions and really kept the boys involved and interested.Sgt. Giordano taught the boys about fingerprinting, with the whole group learning how to recognize the various types of prints, the history of fingerprinting, and even having their own prints taken and being able to identify them for themselves. She is a very gifted teacher.Capt. Trimbath took the group on an extensive tour of the jail and control room. It was quite an eye-opening experience for everyone. I know 12 boys who have no desire to return for an extended stay! Finally, a special thank you to Berman for coordinating the whole event and making this possible for our group.
