A happy ending to a choking story

Marianne Koller-ConradWildernest

A big heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful public service people who came to my aid on New Year’s Eve. I had aspirated a piece of food deep into my esophagus, and was unable to expel it. My husband’s efforts using the Heimlich maneuver were useless because of the location of the blockage. With the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office, the EMTs, firefighters, the Summit Medical Center, the Flight For Life staff and St. Anthony Hospital, I am happy to be here to say bless you all and thank you for giving me the opportunity to voice my gratitude. You all personify quality, professionalism and compassion.
