A license on your dog can be their ticket home

Reasons to license your dog:

— It’s the law.

— You are more likely to get your pet returned to you by an officer if your dog is wearing a valid pet license.

— If your dog is injured, an officer will be able to contact you.

— Licensing fees support the animal shelter budget so that we can continue to provide pets a safe shelter and opportunity for adoption.

— You may avoid costly impound fees and fines if your dog is wearing a license tag.

— County licenses may be obtained at the Summit County Animal Shelter for all dogs residing in unincorporated county and the towns of Silverthorne, Dillon, and Blue River. Bring proof of rabies and sterilization.
