About the Editor

My name is Jim Pokrandt and I have been editor of the Summit Daily since 2002. Prior to that I edited or published the Ten Mile Times and Copper Cable in Summit County. From 1992 to 1999, I worked at the Aspen Times, the Snowmass Village Sun and the Roaring Fork Sunday over in Pitkin County.

I got my start in journalism on the Eastern Shore of Maryland after graduating from the University of Maryland. Fear the turtle. But it was too hot there, so I moved West.

Living in the High Country is one of life’s privileges. I cherish it as a person and we celebrate it at the Summit Daily News.

When we are not chatting here, I can be reached at jpokrandt@summitdaily.com or (970) 668-3998, ext. 227.
