Shreddy Eddy, Cannibal Queen, Golden Thunder, Facebender, D Vicious and Nina are all seeking their moment of glory on the air guitar stage in the latest Breckenridge Backstage Theatre production “Airness,” which is set to debut Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Breckenridge Theater.
The show centers around Nina, who looks for an easy win in her first air guitar competition and finds friendship, joy, freedom and “the airness” inside of herself as she learns to discover herself in her favorite songs and put on an unrestrained performance. It’s billed as “a laugh-out-loud rockin’ comedy about air guitar competition,” according to a news release from Breckenridge Backstage Theatre.
The show is directed by Aileen Wen McGroddy, the co-artistic director at the TUTA Theatre in Chicago, who is making her Breckenridge debut and stars Jeffrey Ararat, Drew Black, Brooke Curry, Ana Dragovich, Lloyd Harvey II, Kiana Holmes, Felix Mayes, Matt Miles, and Philip Shinn. It has adult language and adult situations and is recommended for ages 13 and up.
The show will run 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays until Sept. 9, and tickets cost $20 to $40. Tickets are currently available at BackstageTheatre.org. The Breckenridge Theater is located at 121 South Ridge St.
