Adopt-A-Trail Project is slated for Sunday

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Greenlands Reserve Land Trust invites you to join them on Sunday, for a trail maintenance project on Buffalo Cabin Trail. Volunteers will perform various trail maintenance activities, including trail closure/restoration work in braided areas and construction of water bars and check dams for erosion control. All ability levels welcome.

Volunteers should meet at the trailhead (at the end of Ryan Gulch Road in Wildernest) at 8:30 a.m. and should dress for a day outdoors. Bring lunch, water, work gloves, layered clothing including long pants, long-sleeved shirt, sturdy boots, sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen, rain gear, insect repellent and lots of enthusiasm.

This effort is part of Friends of the Dillon Ranger District’s (FDRD) Forest Stewards Program Adopt-A-Trail initiative. Future opportunities to participate in the effort on this trail are scheduled for Aug. 16 and Sept. 20.
