BRECKENRIDGE – Ever have the urge to take center stage?

The Backstage Theatre announces “Mondays with Michael Martorano” – a series of acting classes tailored to meet the needs of performers of all experience levels, from novice to professional.

Martorano has been a professional actor, director and acting coach in England, New York and regional theatre for more than 15 years. He has worked with people as varied as William Petersen (“CSI”), Aaron Sorkin (“The West Wing”), Carol Vaness (Metropolitan Opera) and Ian Judge (Royal Shakespeare Company).

He customizes classes to the needs and desires of the participants. Areas that might be explored include fundamentals of good acting, scene study, monologue audition techniques and classical performance. Participants are encouraged to bring scripts, scenes or ideas they want to discuss.

The first session takes place every Monday, Oct. 13 to Nov. 10, and the second runs Mondays from Nov. 17 to Dec. 15.

Participants can take the sessions separately or combined. Each costs $75, and there is a $25 discount for enrolling in both. Classes come with a money-back guarantee; if you’re not satisfied with the first class, you’ll get a full refund. To register, call (970) 453-0199.
