Alpenglow hits Summit in September

For 13 years, the Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival has provided an extraordinary musical experience for Summit County residents and visitors. This year the Festival dates are Sept. 14-19.

Edward Arron returns as the artistic director. Since 2004 he has presented exciting programs played by renowned musicians, many returning year after year to make beautiful music for our audiences. Concerts will be at the Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church.

It has been the festival’s goal to acquaint young people with the technique and performance of chamber music. Toward that end, the musicians welcome music students to meet with them informally at 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 one hour before the scheduled concert at 7. Music teachers take note that this informal gathering and the concert are offered to them and their students at no charge.

The second concert takes place at the church at 3 p.m. on Sept. 19. Regular admission for either concert is $20 for adults, no charge for students. Additionally, soirees at private homes on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18 will provide the intimate setting in which this music is meant to he played.
