Alpine Bank robbery suspect captured on security cam

SUMMIT COUNTY – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has released three images of the suspect in last week’s armed robbery of Alpine Bank at Copper Mountain.The pictures were captured by the bank’s security camera and show a male wearing a jacket with the hood up, dark gloves and sunglasses at the teller’s counter and leaving the bank.

The suspect entered the bank just before 1 p.m. last Thursday and verbally requested money while holding a semi-automatic handgun.He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on a yellow bicycle. Nobody was injured. The Alpine Bank is located on the bottom-level of the Passage Point building at Copper Mountain.

Police have identified the suspect as a white male, but know little else of his physical description.The robbery is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information on the robbery to call (970) 453-2232. Anonymous tips are taken through Summit County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-453-STOP. Callers could be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
