Andy Womack: I-70 suggestions

Regarding I-70 problems: Any attempt to increase motor vehicle capacity on I-70 would be temporary at best. Besides, all suggestions made thus far are 100 percent solutions to a 10 percent problem. Plus I believe the I-70 development corridor, especially the Summit County-Vail areas, are saturated.

I would suggest that the State of Colorado consider developing alternate recreation/commerce routes, such as Boulder-Grand County-Steamboat or Littleton-Park.

I would also suggest that our fossil-fuel based transportation system may become obsolete, hopefully not soon, hopefully not abruptly. Tranportation planning should take the worst-case scenario, i.e. sudden end to low-cost liquid fuel, into account.
