Annual sandcastle competition Saturday at Frisco Bay Marina beach

FRISCO — The town of Frisco will host its 9th annual sandcastle competition Saturday at Frisco Bay Marina’s newly expanded beach.

Beginning at 10 a.m., sandcastle competitors will have 90 minutes to build their masterpieces. Each team will receive a free bucket and shovel, while supplies last. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m. with awards at noon. Divisions are ages 1 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. In addition to participation awards, the top three castles in each age category will receive prizes.

Participation is free. Registration is open at or from 9 to 10 a.m. the day of the competition.
