Applause! Breck Tour

Daily News staff report

Start a new holiday tradition by attending the Applause! Breckenridge Holiday Home Tour. Two families are opening their homes Dec. 6-7 to the public to benefit the Breckenridge Music Institute (BMI). Applause! is the fundraising arm of the BMI.

Chairperson Kim Fancher has recruited area designers and decorators to adorn the homes for the holiday season.

The Christmas Collector’s Home, 34 Fletcher Court in the Highlands, will feature a collection of Santas, elves and angels from Sweden and the United States. The house will be bedecked with three Christmas trees, a Dickens village and antique ornaments and decorations.

The Christmas Idea Home, 17 Ski Home Drive, off County Road 708, located just steps from Four O’Clock Ski Run, will feature local designers and decorators Kim Fancher, Hannah Thompson, Kerrie Donham and Sarah Whitaker. Decorations will be provided by Marge Hettenbaugh, Mountain Comfort Furnishings and Pier One Imports.

Both homes can be visited from noon until 6 p.m. Dec. 6. Ticket prices are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

On Dec. 7, both homes may be toured between 1-4 p.m., during which time a special High Country Christmas tea will be served. Ticket prices for the tour and tea are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Sunday’s tour and tea is limited to 100 guests.
