Arapahoe Basin Ski Area reminds people uphill access is currently closed

With the opening of the mountain Friday, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is putting out a friendly reminder asking people to respect all mountain closures.

According to A-Basin, uphill access is not open during the early ski season because of ongoing snowmaking, grooming and winch cat operations. The resort will announce when it opens uphill access for the season.

Per A-Basin, uphill access means skinning, snowshoeing or hiking up the mountain, which has grown in popularity in recent years. For a list of A-Basin’s uphill access guidelines, go to .
