Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced on Tuesday that it will extend its skiing and riding season for at least one weekend, maybe more.
After A-Basin closes down its 7-day a week operations effective on its originally-planned closing date, June 2, the ski area will re-open for at least one more long weekend, from June 7-9.
The ski area may open for more weekends after that, conditions permitting. A-Basin spokeswoman Katherine Fuller said in an email Tuesday there is currently no timeframe for when a subsequent announcement about staying open past June 9 will be made.
Fuller also said that A-Basin’s terrain is currently 82% open, with everything from beginner to expert terrain available. Fuller said all lifts are still turning and winter snow conditions can be found high up at the ski area at the Continental Divide.
As of Tuesday morning, A-Basin was reporting a 71-inch base of snow with packed-powder conditions.
