Breckenridge police are seeking an armed robber who stole a bank bag from a guard inside Bank of the West Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from Breckenridge Police Department, the man approached a Loomis guard in the vestibule of Bank of the West on French Street at about 2:40 p.m. Monday. The man brandished a small handgun and demanded the bag the guard was holding. The guard surrendered the bag and the man fled on foot. Police say he ran north through the alley that runs behind the bank.

Police are seeking help finding the suspect, who they describe as a white male about 6 feet tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored sneakers, dark sweatpants and a dark “‘do-rag” style head covering.

Anyone with any information on the suspect is asked to contact the Breckenridge Police Department at (970) 453-2941. If you want to remain anonymous, contact Summit County Crime Stoppers at 866-453-STOP. You could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
