Army Sergeant re-enlists from Iraq hospital bed

FORT CARSON ” Sergeant Daryl Williams is proof you can’t even keep a good man down or even from re-enlisting after he is wounded.

The Long Island, Virginia, native re-enlisted before being medivaced from Iraq with shrapnel injuries.

Before he was wounded, he spotted two improvised explosive devices and saved his comrades from injury.

Williams was on his third deployment to Iraq and was serving in a Scout-Sniper platoon.

He is recovering in Evans Community Hospital at Fort Carson.
