Artwork needed for Silverthorne Art Wall

The town of Silverthorne invites local artists to help establish a sense of creativity and exuberance at the soon-to-be heart of the town’s arts and culture community — the new Performing Arts Center. Currently under construction, the Performing Arts Center will be located adjacent to the Silverthorne Pavilion with a projected opening date of April 2017. Summit County artists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to submit original works to transform the construction fence surrounding the development into a community-generated art installation.

For the Art Wall, the town is soliciting entries from amateurs and professionals in the following categories:

Our Diverse Histories

Youthful Expressions (ages 0-18 years only)

Dream BIG

Artwork of any medium — painting, drawing, photography, photos of sculpture, textiles, performing arts, music, dance, etc. — should be submitted in the format of high-resolution .pdf electronic files to Silverthorne Recreation and Culture director, Joanne Cook, by June 27. The complete call for entries and honorarium details for chosen works can be found at

Winning artwork will be selected by a panel of community artists, residents and business leaders for their artistic and technical merit, visual appeal, and relevance to the overall project theme. The Art Wall’s intention is to foster community pride and celebrate Silverthorne’s unique sense of place. Special consideration will be given to artwork that captures images that convey Silverthorne’s distinctive identity, have strong visual appeal, and contribute to the diversity of the final installation.
