Angela Reider is the Summit County volunteer 4-H Ceramics Leader who excels as an Asset Builder each and every day. For three years, Summit County 4-H members have had the opportunity to experience their creative side because of Angela Reider. As the Director of our Summit County 4-H program, I frequently receive calls and e-mails from parents and kids asking when the next ceramics class is. Angela has made such a connection with kids that our 4-H Ceramics Club is the most popular club by far!

Angela enjoys working with kids to help them tap into their inner creative side while learning to work with clay. She reaches all kinds of kids from ages 5-15, from naturally creative minds to those needing a little “extra push.” Angela shares her knowledge as she builds a theme into each ceramics class session and encourages kids to do a little research on their own. At a recent class, the club worked on Egyptian Cartouches and several kids brought stories and a book on the subject. Angela excels above and beyond as she connects with Summit County 4-H youth in teaching “life skills” while having fun working with clay. Sheri Weinman, a parent of a child in the ceramics program commented, “Angela is wonderful! She is patient with the kids and enjoys being with them. Angela is very generous as she donates her time to teach the kids.”As a caring adult in our community, we are fortunate to have the skills, knowledge and compassion Angela brings to our 4-H program. Angela’s role as a 4-H Leader has made an outstanding positive impact on the lives of many Summit County youth. Thank you Angela for your dedication, compassion, and care for kids in our community!
