At A-Basin, still winter

Special to the Daily/A-BasinA handful of skiers were ready for the lift to start turning Friday morning. The ski area was reporting 4 new inches of snow on top of 4 feet that's fallen since April 22.

Arapahoe Basin has received 10 inches of snow in the last three days and over 4 feet of snow in the last three weeks. 100 percent of the intermediate and beginner terrain is open in addition to Montezuma Bowl, Pallavicini, East Wall and the Treeline Terrain Park which are all open for skiing and riding.

A-Basin is reporting a 49″ base with 79 trails available on 705 acres.

In Frisco, a wet spring storm dumped almost a foot of snow by Friday morning. The weather is expected to change for the weekend, with temperatures reaching into the 60s.
