Avalanche Jam to benefit Colorado Avalanche Information Center

The 4th Annual Avalanche Jam, benefiting the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, takes place Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th St. in Golden. This year’s event features:– Free dinner from Trappeda’s Italian Cafe– Free beer from New Belgium Brewery– Live rock music from local band Damage Done– Silent auction of the latest gear, donated by outdoor companies such as Patagonia and Black Diamond. Other prizes include ski passes, packs, sleeping bags, hut trips, skis, bindings and more.Channel 7’s Mike Nelson will be on hand for the festivities as well. Tickets cost $30 in advance from local outdoor retailers or Backcountry Access, or $35 at the gate. Children 12 years old and younger are free.
